Article 13: Every child must be free to express their thoughts and opinions and to access all kinds of information.

This week in cooking club, Year 6 made blueberry muffins.  The skills we looked at were measuring, mixing, dividing (spooning), using the oven and most importantly cleaning up after ourselves.

Every Monday this term, Year 6 has a cooking club after school. This first week, the students made a stir-fry. They learnt how to safely chop up different types of vegetables and looked at how to season  and fry them all together.

The end result was delicious!

  Take Over Day

On Friday 12th September it was 'Take Over Day' at St Augustine's

Earlier in the week, the children throughout school had to vote for who they would like to have as the Headteacher, Deputy Head and Business Manager for the day.

In Year 6, we had a number of different lessons prepared and led by the children.

We had a P.E lesson, a Science Lesson, Languages lessons, and a Cooking lesson.

The children did an amazing job of becoming teachers and delivered some great lessons.

Our four wonderful Year 6 girls did an amazing job running the school.

Class Charity

This year we are introducing a new scheme, ‘Ready, Steady, Spell,’ which we will be using in class to enhance your child’s spelling skills. Each week, your child will have three fun and engaging spelling lessons, which will focus on a specific spelling pattern or rule.

We will use a range of strategies to encourage the children to become confident spellers. Below we have attached a home learning document that outlines the strategies we will be using in class. We encourage you to review it together and set aside a few minutes each day for practice.

Engaging in activities such as games or writing exercises can make learning fun and effective. If you have any questions about the programme, or how to support your child at home, please feel free to reach out.

Below we have attached an example of a past Year 6 SATs paper. Each question has a link attached at the top of the page that links to a relevant game on Rollama. This will help Year 6 revise any questions they need help with.

Year 6's P.E days will be Wednesday and Friday.

The children should come to school these days in their P.E Kits.

Kits are:

T-Shirts - Innovation Schoolwear                  Plain Black PE Shadow Shorts                             Mens Black Joggers | sdr.com.ec

White T-Shirt                       Black Shorts                             Black Joggers
