On Friday 15th November, our friends at Blue Peter invited the children to come and take part in the
Children In Need Blue Peter live show.
The children got to meet Pudsey Bear and take part in a world record for how many sets of Pudsey bear ears could be placed on in 30 seconds. To beat the record the presenter had to place more than 17 headbands on the children within the time.
The official judicator from the Guinness World Records was present on the show. The presenter successfully put on 18 sets of Pudsey Ears in the time making it the new world record.
The children had a great time.
We even took Augustine Bear with us and he got his first Blue Peter Badge.
The Imperial War Museum
On Tuesday 13th November, after our wonderful trip to the cinema, Year 6 headed over to the in Imperial War Museum. There we saw real memorabilia from WW1 and WW2 and learnt about many of the people that fought and died in the war. We ended the trip by visiting their sobering holocaust exhibit.
What an amazing way to spend this week of remembrance!
On Thursday 7th November Year 6 took a trip to Manchester Museum to check out their new interactive exhibition. They used iPads to travel back in time and explore some of the amazing artifacts that the museum holds. Students would pick a character and complete different missions around the museum. We saw everything from dinosaurs to mummies and had an amazing time!

This term in Science we have been learning about circuits and their different components. We looked at the difference between a complete and incomplete circuit and how having many components attached to one cell might affect the light or sound we get from these components. Year 6 tried their hand at making their own complete circuit, adding more and more components as they went.
The first Thursday of October we held a reading workshop for our parents and students in Year 6. Parents joined us in the morning to learn different techniques, to help their children improve their reading at home. There were several stations with different reading activities at each. One station even looked at a past SATs reading paper. This gave students and parents an idea of what they will face in the May SATs. It was lovely to see our students show off some of the wonderful work they have done so far.

Year 6 Class Prayer
Dear god of our faith,
We are grateful for the life you gave us, the family we are apart of and the world we share,
We are thankful for the animals from the small snails to the big whales,
We are hopeful for the trees to continue to grow and the stars to glow,
Help us to be respectful to the other children’s rights so we can fly like kites,
May we never forget to believe, always hope to achieve and guide us to succeed.
Amen/Ameen
