PE days are Wednesday and Thursday. Children will need to come to school in PE kits on these days. This could be black shorts or joggers and a plain white t-shirt or polo shirt. They can also wear trainers or pumps.
Homework and reading books are given out every Wednesday. Your child will take home a book of their choice and a book suited to their reading level, chosen for them. Please complete the homework and reading with your children and return them on the following Monday.

We wore clothes that represented us, our cultures, or identity. At lunchtime, we enjoyed food from a very special 'around the world' menu featuring foods from various cultures. It was delicious!
In the afternoon, we were joined by some parents and carers who were invited to take part in the celebrations and exciting activities related to the theme of peace. We each showed our commitment to peace through decorating pebbles for our peace garden, which we visited together. Other activities included making friendship bands and designing our own doves, which we learnt are global symbols of peace.
We ended a wonderful day with an assembly where each year group had the chance to show off their outfits. We admired the diversity of our school!
It was so lovely to finish the day together and be reminded of the importance of celebrating our differences, as this is a key step towards achieving peace.
Thank you to all the grown ups who spent the afternoon with us and well done to our own Ethos and Inclusion representatives Darcy and Abrakham, who did such a great job organising the events with their fellow members!

In Science, Year 1 have been learning all about the season of Autumn. To support our learning, we enjoyed a lovely walk to Queen's Park. We were able to observe the signs of Autumn first hand on the walk and at the park. It was amazing!
We saw some beautiful trees at the park, including Deciduous Trees, which we know are trees that lose their leaves in Autumn and Evergreen Trees that keep their green leaves all year round.
After taking in the beautiful scenery, we ended our trip with lots of fun climbing, sliding and playing together on the park playground.
We had such a great time and learned so much!

We welcomed parents and carers to come along, play games and have fun with their children at our phonics and early reading workshop on Thursday 16th October. We had such a fantastic time participating in various activities in the hall.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended!

On Thursday 18th September, Parents and carers had the opportunity to learn about how we learn Maths in Year 1. After the first part of the workshop concluded, the children then joined in to explore the various activities in the hall with their grown ups. They played games such as snakes and ladders, explored shapes using magnetic tiles and sticks, showed off their counting skills and had so much more fun.

Thank you to all the parents and carers who came along.
It was lovely to see everyone enjoy maths together!

On Friday 12th September, the children participated in Takeover Day. Earlier in the week, after watching some campaign videos from the fantastic Year 6 pupils, we voted for who we thought would do the best job as Headteacher, Deputy Head and Business Manager. We filled out our own ballots and then went to the hall to place our votes in a voting booth.
Throughout the day, the children had a go at being the teacher. Here are some of them leading a Phonics lesson, Maths lesson, and a Dough Disco. They all did a wonderful job!
