International Day Of Peace![]()
On Thursday 23rd October, we celebrated International Day Of Peace. The St Augustines family all looked fabulous in their traditional clothes. It was such a wonderful opportunity to express ourselves freely and share the rich diversity of our cultures.
Our day started by exploring the meaning of peace and our human rights. We then decorated colourful rocks for our peace garden.
At lunchtime, we enjoyed an 'around the world' lunch! Thank you to our kitchen team for cooking the delicious food!
In the afternoon, our parents joined us for more fun and celebration—thank you for coming! We finished the day with a big parade, dancing and proudly showing off our wonderful traditional clothes.
What a truly magical day! Shout out to the Ethos & Inclusion team for working hard to make it happen :).
A Trip Back In Time!
On Friday, Year 2 had a very special day! We had a fun history workshop that took us back to the past to see what it was like in a Victorian school.
We sat in rows, the boys and girls had to sit separately, and we had to be very serious! We even had to call the teacher "ma'am"!
It was interesting to see how different schools were a long time ago... but we were very glad to come back to our happy St Augustine's classroom!
Article 31- Every child has the right to participate in cultural and artistic life.
Article 12- Every child has the right to be heard.
Take Over Day![]()
On Friday 12th September it was 'Take Over Day' at St Augustine's.
All the children throughout school took part in a democracy and had to vote for who they would like to have as the Headteacher, Deputy Head and Business Manager for the day. The children were fantastic and shout out to year 6 for doing an amazing job at running the school.
Year 2 were very excited to do their vote and post it in the ballot box! Some children in year 2 took charge of 'taking' our register and 'teaching' our lessons, including phonics, maths and shared read.
